Anyone here have any luck getting Tim's original Winplan running on Windows 10 64-bit?
No, but we were discussing that in the shareware thread and Bitmask shared a link to his original 64 bit client which has the same look and feel as Tim's Winplan. I've been playing with it and found one problem which I reported to BM but otherwise, it's working fine!

Just downloaded it - seems to work aok. Now just need to work out how to get an Autotroll up and running. Surely there's someone in the community with the programming chomps to code something up? 🤔
@hawkeye Glad to hear it. If you're running test games for yourself (conquering the mighty c-player) watch what happens when you're building factories etc. I found that the build window seemed to map incorrectly, so there would be odd things happening - selling 10 supplies when I was trying to build 10 factories, the window disappearing as I scrolled through planets, and sometimes it seemed to think I had more supplies or cash than I really had, which could have led to a Tim Continuum plague. I've got my Randmax for Windows up and running so I'm getting around it that way, but it could trip people up if they're managing their planets manually. Let me know if you see that too, please.
@gilgamesh Will do, however with life events coming up I'm unlikely to be running Winplan until a game is back on.
You might try DOSbox, run an actual copy of Windows 3.1, and then install it that way.
Alternatively, use WINE, and set up your wineprefix with winecfg to use the Windows 3.1 API, which has been nailed down pretty thoroughly.
Planets Command Center 2 (PCC2) is another alternative to Winplan and can be registered using a WinPlan installation of reg.key and scram21.ole. I don't recall the exact steps to make that happen, but did get it working a long time ago.
removed link
It has been updated by many revisions since I last used it and updated as recently as 18 removed link I see @streu join the forum here, he's the mastermind behind the creation of PCC2 ... asssuming that's the same streu and I remembered that correctly.
@andor you remember correctly, and I'm the same guy. I've been using that same avatar for ages, maybe that helps remember :). The avatar shows me coding FLAK (Fleet Action Kombat). I believe CM did have a game with that, too?

Yes indeed. Multi-Ship combat right?

I see that I created that game around 2012 with a (not) very imaginative name "T-Flak1". But we must have loaded it under another name on the site.

Yep.
The "VGA" in "VGA Planets" stands for awesome graphics, right? My battle simulators have a FLAK option (Options > Mode). The web version https://planetscentral.com/play/sim.cgi will play that with fancy 3-D in your browser. (And I hope that in the not-so distant future, ships will also have recognizable shapes, i.e. a Gorbie look like a death star.)
So don't say there's nothing new in our universe in 2023 🙂
